Jessica Willard is a barrister specialising in criminal law, who also practices in the areas of family law, civil law and commercial law.
As an experienced solicitor advocate, she practiced exclusively in crime for the past five years. Her practice experience includes summary, indictable and appellate matters in both Victoria and Queensland.
Prior to coming to the bar, Jessica worked as a solicitor advocate at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (ATSILS). She appeared regularly in contested hearings and bail applications in remote and regional courts, including those located in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Palm Island. Prior to this she was a solicitor advocate at the Victorian firm Revill and Papa Lawyers.
Jessica also has experience in commercial law having worked for three years as Legal Counsel at Specsavers. During this time, she developed experience in all facets of general commercial activities including acquisitions and sale of businesses, intellectual property, franchising, industrial relations and corporations law.
Graduating from Bond University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Laws and Business, Jessica also has a Graduate Diploma in Franchising and International Relations. Jessica is one of the founding members of Women in Crime, the leading professional network of female criminal lawyers in Victoria. Jessica read with Patrick Doyle. Her senior mentors are Ian Hill QC and Julian Burnside OA, QC.
