Liam is an experienced criminal law advocate with particular interests in indictable and appellate crime. He accepts briefs to appear in criminal law matters across all jurisdictions. Since coming to the Bar, he has appeared in a broad range of criminal law matters, including for homicide, drug, sexual and violent offences. Liam also accepts briefs to advise and appear in quasi-criminal and regulatory matters.
Before coming to the Bar, Liam was a senior solicitor advocate at an accredited specialist private criminal law firm. He routinely appeared for the accused in the County, Magistrates' and Children's Courts in appearances including committals, summary contests, bail applications, pleas and appeals. He also instructed in matters in the Supreme Court's Trial Division and the Court of Appeal.
Before his career in law, Liam was a performing musician. He played the bass guitar and double bass, completing a Bachelor of Music Performance at Monash University and international study at New York University.
Liam read with Glenn Casement. His senior mentor is Dermot Dann KC.
