The Hon Neil Brown QC practices in mediation, arbitration, general advice and consulting in all areas of law, particularly commercial, construction, intellectual property and administrative law. He is a Chartered Arbitrator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a nationally accredited mediator and a member of many Australian and international mediation and arbitration panels. One of his specialities is internet domain name arbitration, where as well as arbitrating through many international tribunals, he has advised, contributed to journals, lectured and tutored.
The Hon Neil Brown QC has had a long and distinguished career in government and the law. He has been a Minister in the Federal Government, a Member of the Federal Parliament and a delegate to the General Assembly of the United Nations and other national and international organisations. Most recently, he was appointed to the Panel of Conciliators at the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) at Washington, USA and is recognised internationally as a leading arbitrator on domain name disputes.
He has practiced in virtually every area of the law, including commercial, construction, intellectual property, administrative, town planning, and industrial relations. He now concentrates on mediation, arbitration and advice.
He has also taken part in three significant inquiries on behalf of the Commonwealth Government, concerning a banking matter, a military inquiry and a constitutional review. He regularly gives advice on contentious matters and acts as a case evaluator.
