Nick was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1992. He came to Victoria in 1996 and joined the Bar in 1998. He was appointed senior counsel in 2013.
Since coming to the bar, Nick’s practice has focused on planning and environment, liquor and gaming law, statutory crime, and administrative and governmental matters.
He has appeared in a broad range of planning, land valuation and liquor and gaming applications at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), before Advisory Committees and planning panels, and in appeals concerning planning and related matters before the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
He also appears in administrative challenges to governmental or judicial decisions.
He represents applicants, objectors, local Councils, statutory authorities, Ministers, and government departments.
Nick has extensive experience with major infrastructure projects, and has represented the proponent, the relevant Minister, and affected Councils in Advisory Committee proceedings related to such projects. He has also appeared as Counsel assisting the Advisory Committee.
