After several years as a principal in his own firm in Gippsland Richard Edmunds came to the Bar in 1988.
As a solicitor Richard established a practice in personal injuries, criminal law and family law. Since coming to the Bar Richard has practiced extensively in family law, de facto property matters, wills and probate as well as civil litigation and commercial litigation involving property, partnership, contract and building disputes.
He is a member of the Family Law Bar Association and over the years has written and presented a number of papers related to family law, claims against estates and property. Richard is a member of the Commercial Bar Association.
Richard works hard to achieve a just and equitable result for clients and is a firm believer that a well prepared and documented claim can best be resolved mediation when all relevant disclosure has been made by the parties. In addition to representing clients as counsel Richard is an accredited mediator and has assisted many parties resolve their disputes.
