Shannon has developed considerable experience in a broad range of civil and quasi-criminal jurisdictions, and maintains a broad generalist practice. Her areas of practice span across commercial law, public and administrative law, family and children’s law, and coroner's inquests.

Shannon has developed considerable experience in a broad range of civil and quasi-criminal jurisdictions, and maintains a broad generalist practice. Her areas of practice span across commercial law, public and administrative law, family and children’s law, and coroner's inquests. She has taught Evidence Law at Deakin University since 2019. She has a specific interest in Costs Law, and regularly run CPDs on this topic at Leo Cussens. Regularly appearing, Shannon is an experienced advocate in matters at first instance and on appeal.
Shannon regularly appears representing refugees in merits and judicial review of migration decisions. With a strong interest in advocating for social justice and human rights, often acts on a pro bono basis, and Shannon was nominated for the Pro Bono Trophy at the 2023 Victorian Bar Pro Bono Awards.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Shannon was Associate to the Judicial Registrar Burchell and Judicial Registrar Tran (as they were) at the County Court of Victoria. As an Associate, Shannon gained significant experience assisting the Judicial Registrars in all interlocutory matters, judicial resolution conferences, as well as a number of civil trials.
Shannon worked as a Registered Nurse from 2007 to 2020, and holds graduate and postgraduate qualifications in nursing. Has extensive clinical experience in metropolitan and country health care, including working as a renal nurse in the remote Northern Territory. Shannon has a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease and pathology, health interventions and pharmacology, and healthcare systems.
