Yusur practices in common law, primarily in personal injury and insurance law. She also accepts briefs in administrative law, particularly judicial review of medical panels and statutory bodies, as well as coronial inquests and inquiries.
Yusur regularly appears in common law trials, judicial reviews and serious injury applications, in transport accident and work injuries, medical negligence and public liability matters. Yusur also litigates complex novel torts, intentional torts and claims involving the Victorian Charter of Human Rights.
Before coming to the Bar, Yusur practiced as a solicitor at Robinson Gill Lawyers and a senior solicitor at the Human Rights Law Centre. At Robinson Gill, she led a busy practice that included Transport Accident Commission, WorkCover, public liability and intentional torts matters.
Yusur has written and presented extensively on novel and intentional tort law and the Victorian Charter of Human Rights, was the Chair of the Board of Road to Refuge and has supervised and conducted rights work at several community legal centres, including Fitzroy Legal Service and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. She currently sits on the Law Council of Australia's National Human Rights Committee.
Yusur holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Monash University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne.
